When hockey star Linc Carpenter is banned from playing his beloved sport, he starts over, slinging drinks in Tampa. He's inept as a bartender, so when the opportunity arises to train as a private investigator he takes it. He's not very good at that either, but he still manages to get hired to follow fashion mogul Quentin Faulkner.
Linc's incompetence is a hindrance, but Brady Williams, Faulkner's studly bodyguard, may prove to be his undoing. Brady is drawn to Linc despite his bungling, and Linc's stupidity may be just what's needed to solve the case and save their lives.

This is a very silly novella. I giggled my way through the whole thing, and didn’t spend a lot of time analyzing it.
It is shiny and happy and romantic and it made me feel good. It is also very well done, and that matters because good fluff isn’t easy.
Linc Carpenter is, um, not a Rhodes Scholar. (Road scholar? He’d say. You get the picture.)
He’s a big gay, gentle-hearted hockey player with a penchant for pretty little twinks and no concept of anything beyond his immediate pleasures.
So, when that all goes belly up, he finds himself trying to learn to be a bartender in Tampa. Even more absurdly, he subsequently finds himself trying to be a private eye.
During the course of one particularly disastrous attempt to do what his client wants, he runs into Brady Williams, a red-headed muscle boy who’s smart and a body guard. Not at all Linc’s type.
You’d think.
This book bubbles along at a brisk pace, while Ethan Stone creates surprisingly well-rounded characters (at least for Linc and Brady) and hilarious situations spiced with Linc’s constant malapropisms. The whole thing is adorable, and I confess it made me sort of horny.
I don’t know if Stone plans a sequel, but I wouldn’t mind seeing these guys again.

These are two great guys who had a wonderfully exciting, hilariously extended blind date. What a unique premise and a really fun read!
I don't remember ever reading such a funny book! It was a light romantic story about a disgraced pro athlete who has trouble using the correct words and a bodyguard who finds him adorable. I loved it!
2.5 Stars This is a ridiculous book. It is slap stick funny.
The opening scene is crass and the hero isn't too bring.
And yet... lol ...it was a silly, shallow, quick read that I enjoyed.
The heroes are just so good natured.
Oh my goodness, I loved this book! Honestly, I've never laughed so hard while reading an MM romance. It was sexy, silly, and it made me feel like my smile would take over the room. I read it in the middle of a sleepless night, and I actually woke my husband because my laughter made the bed shake.
I'm not going to give away the details. Just know that Linc and Brady are amazing, and they'll steal your heart. They were made for each other. Their romance was sweet, and the sex? Holy smokes!! It was hot enough to melt my . The story itself might be a little far fetched, but that's the beauty of the whole thing. It's a relatively short read, and it's the perfect way to spend an evening.
Do yourself a favor and pick this one up. You won't be sorry.
I enjoyed this book so much I'm still grinning and giggling as I write this review. The story is great and funny so plz give it a read. Just don't drink or eat while u read it or you will choke with all the laughing you will be doing. I learned that lesson the hard way.
After chapter one I thought Linc was an idiot, then by chapter two I thought he was a lovable idiot. I smiled almost the whole way through, with chuckles out loud along the way as well.
I think that this was well written and very smart as well. There actually is a mystery to clear up and when it was revealed I was surprised but it made complete sense. I couldn't help but enjoy Linc's adventures and his getting to know Brady. I felt an enormous amount of affection towards Linc. I would happily purchase any other stories featuring Linc and Brady!
OK, this was awesome. Like, laughing out loud fracking hilarious. I loved it but you definitely need a sense of humor to appreciate this story cause it's hilarious in that 'embarrassing' kinda way. Which is even better.
A parody of sorts I'd say, though I probably lack the right English words to explain what I mean here.
Think of a soap opera, the drama always bordering the ridiculous (in my opinion at least), yes? This story takes that to the next level, full-on ridiculous, shameless. Just fracking hilarious I tell you ＼(≧▽≦)／
There's not even much I can say about the story cause it's more about the little things that happen... and Linc.
That's our hero, Linc Carpenter, ex-hockey player turned bartender moonlighting as a PI trainee.
Not very good at either bartending or being a PI it seems. But he's relentless. And fracking hilarious with a side of plain adorable.
And we have the bodyguard that's between Linc and his goal to succeed in his first interesting PI job.
And let the funny begin.
And the hilarious, the ridiculous, the fracking endearing, the even more ridiculous yet and the possibility of love.
I loved it all ^^
